Should I choose Granite or Quartz?
* Both stones are excellent products for countertops and other applications. The difference, however, is that Granite has the uniqueness and beauty that can't be duplicated, it is truly one of a kind. It is also one of the most heat-resistant materials on the market. It is, however, porous material and needs maintenance.
On the other hand, Quartz has a more consistent design. It is generally more scratch resistant, however, exposure to extreme heat can damage your quartz.
Is all Quartz created equal?
*Quartz countertops come in multiple grades which will be ideal for different locations and conditions depending on what you're hoping to get out of your countertop. Some are more durable than others, more resistant to stains and heat, while others have more of a shine to them. It all depends on the needs of your countertops as well as your budget.
Why are natural stone tops sealed?
* Sealing is a common step taken on some stones as an extra precaution against staining. In fact, the sealing products used in the stone industry are "impregnators" that do not actually seal the stone, but more correctly act as a repellent rather than a sealer. When considering sealing, remember that sealing the stone does not make the stone stain proof, it makes it more resistant to staining.
* Quartz generally does not need to be sealed.
How do I maintain my granite/natural stone countertop?
*When we install granite in your home, it is sealed with a modified silane-based sealer to help prevent staining and water infiltration into the stone. The sealer we use comes with a 25-year warranty.
* Clean stone surfaces with a neutral cleaner, stone soap, or a mild liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water.
Similar to any item cleaned in your home, an excessive concentration of cleaner or soap may leave a film and cause streaks.
Will my granite or quartz countertop have any seams?
* Most stone countertops installations will require at least one or more seams. During layout and design, we try to minimize the number of seams required, and it is possible for some designs to be seamless.
What is the time frame of a kitchen counter installation?
* Every job is unique, so there are a number of factors to consider before we can provide a solid time frame.? Once templates have been taken, it could take about 2 weeks to get your countertops under normal circumstances.
* The availability of faucets, cook-tops, and sinks on-site during the Template step; may cause some delays.
* An average kitchen takes approximately four hours to install.
